Federal Government to Review Minimum Wage in Less Than Two Years.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has disclosed that the new minimum wage will be reviewed in less than two years from now.

Onyejeocha revealed the information in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, while addressing the press after a meeting with labor leaders in Abia. She emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is committed to ensuring a review of the minimum wage after three years.

The Minister reminded the leaders that labor is an integral part of the government and should help ensure stability and peace in the workplace and the country.

While speaking at the event, the Abia Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Ogbomna Okoro, commended the minister for her giant strides in office, noting that the Civil Servants would cooperate with her in ensuring development in the nation.

Recall that Tinubu approved the N70,000 minimum wage in July 2024, with a promise to review it every three years.
