The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) commenced the New Year with a solemn interfaith prayer session, during which Executive Chairman Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran issued a stern warning to staff members regarding financial practices. This information was disclosed in a press release from the OYOSUBEB Media Team on January 2.
The event, held in Ibadan on Tuesday, gathered management and staff as Dr. Adeniran urged officials to demonstrate diligence in their duties while strictly adhering to professional ethics outlined in civil service rules. The Chairman underscored the Board’s commitment to taking decisive actions against any staff member involved in fraudulent practices, citing the frequent receipt of petitions against such individuals.
Highlighting the pivotal role of Headteachers, teachers, and the entire board in the Oyo State government’s efforts to revitalize the basic education sub-sector, Dr. Adeniran emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity. He expressed the Board’s readiness to implement stringent measures against any staff member found engaging in fraudulent activities.
According to the press release signed electronically by the OYOSUBEB media team, it was noted that interfaith gathering served the dual purpose of expressing gratitude to God for the New Year and setting a robust foundation for the tasks ahead, as stated by Dr. Adeniran.
“I implore you to rededicate yourselves to your duties and ensure you do your best and do the needful at all times. Avoid being involved in any form of sharp practices or fraudulence that could mar the name of the Board or the State,” he cautioned.
Dr. Adeniran, an Educationist and Lawyer, advised staff members to carry out due diligence and fully understand their responsibilities, emphasizing that this would not only save them from trouble but also facilitate the smooth operation of OYOSUBEB.
Commending staff members for maintaining professional ethics, Dr. Adeniran congratulated everyone for witnessing the New Year. He assured them of the continued support and cooperation of the Oyo State Government.
