…Residents Seek Support
Following the tragic explosion in Ibadan on January 17, the President of Bodija Estate Residents Association Muyiwa Bamgbose, during a consultative meeting has expressed concerns about the missing persons, suggesting the count might be closer to 10 based on neighborhood discussions. To aid accurate information, the association took the initiative to present a detailed map of the affected street to the government.
Representing all communities in Bodija, the Bodija Estate Residents Association (BERA) called for extensive assistance for the explosion victims. Emphasizing the need for ongoing care and support, especially for those whose lives were unexpectedly altered, BERA underscored the importance of collective efforts in the recovery process.
Meanwhile, members of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited Governor Makinde to commend his swift response to the incident. Senator Adolphus Wabara, the BoT chairman, stressed the necessity of a thorough investigation to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
In response, Governor Seyi Makinde in an update on his verified Instagram page earlier today acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of first responders, agencies, and volunteers involved in the Ground Zero search and rescue operations. He reassured the commitment of his administration to ensuring justice for the victims while emphasizing community vigilance through a toll-free hotline for reporting concerns, promoting a collective effort for safety and security.
